Yeah, it means LJ is down again! It no longer surprises me but I do get annoyed that the one day I can actually take time to browse my flist and do replies, the fecking thing is down.

My popullus account seems to have stopped working so if you need to email me - best to try my nexus account or PM me here on LJ. It might just be a glitch, but just incase, I've made the nexus my default for live journal, AO3 and dreamwidth.

So, the week didn't start off so good, what with the whole hubby and the broken arm saga thing. And I would just like to say a huge thank you to everyone who wished him well. I was going to try to reply individually, but when I finally got to bed on Tuesday evening, I had been awake for about 36 HOURS and was in no state to speak coherently far less type.

It's been very weird having to look after him like he was a baby. He cant do hardly anything for himself. I even have to dress him! This morning, on my knees, trying to get his underpants on, he shifted from one foot to the other and I got slapped in the face by his... well you can guess right? It was totally hilarious, although I think he was a little bit embarrassed. Hehehe.

Anyway, as I said, week started off on the wrong foot, but some really good stuff has happened since then, namely:

• My daughter's spiffy DSLR camera arrived today (she was sure it would'nt come before Christmas) so she is happy and Larry. This is not a Christmas pressie - she bought it off her first wage.


• All of the other things we had ordered online arrived today too including Xim's copy of the Gay Kamasutra. This was notable in that hubby opened the package and was a little taken aback at the contents. ROFL!


• My boss emailed all the staff today and told us that we get to close up shop tomorrow at lunchtime - YAY


• And finally, but most importantly, I got my car fixed! Took it to a specialist electrician, who fixed the faulty blowers. Cost me £100 and I wont be able to afford to eat for the rest of the month and probably most of january, but I have heat in my car again. (but you wanna know whats annoying? The temperatures have begun to climb again, and by Christmas day we will be in double figures!!!)

Also off the good - so many clips, trailers and previews going around for BBC Sherlock and The Hobbit. When Xim gets here, we are going to see Sherlock Holmes 2 at the pictures. Looking forward to that. And we get to watch the season finale of Merlin together too. I cannot wait!

Okay - time I got my head down and got some decent sleep.

I have had my LJ layout for quite some time now. I was very happy with it, but I was getting a bit bored and I wondered if I could still remember how to change it, so I figured it was time to do a nice wintry, snowy layout.

I was expecting something light and fluffy and possibly in tones of white and pale blue...

Yeah, seems I cant do light and airy layouts. It actually might be a bit depressing - LOL. Oh well. It is, what it is!

Camelot in the snow, combined with a background image of a raven on a tree (Merlin symbolism ahoy) plus the added bonus of Excalibur in the stone.

So yeah, got in the car this morning, switched on the engine and the blowers came right on like there had never been anything wrong. Go figure.

ALSO - have just been sent home early from work, on account of how we are about to be hit by hurricane force winds of up to 90mph. The weegies have dubbed it hurricane bo'bag. LOL. I've tied down the buckets and boiled up several thermos flasks of water - just in case.

Here's hoping there is not too many casualties!

Live journal down again???

So, last night I was at a charity concert in a very small church hall. My seat was up against an emergancy exit which didnt close properly. I stood up to let someone past, leant on the door and.... dissapeared.

There were two very steep concrete steps down on the other side of the door and I went down both of them, twisting my ankle and hurting my forearm and wrist, but I didnt want any fuss so I picked myself up and sat through the rest of the concert. I was in rather a lot of pain, but I couldnt walk to squeeze past anyone so even though I had to suffer though mild shock (sweating, feeling nauseous and shaking) I was a good little solider and waited until the end to try walking. Fortunately it was nearly an hour later before I was dropped off at my friends house, and by that time, the swelling and pain had gone down enough for me to be able to manage the 30 minute drive back home.

Took a pain killer and passed out! Today, I can limp about on it, and there doesnt seem to be anything broken or any swelling but I cant move my toes without pain lancing right up to my knee. I have a bit of bruising and swelling and a scrape on my forearm, and my wrist aches, but thats because I have to use that hand to haul myself up and down the stairs! Family want me to go to casualty to get an x-ray but I really do hate fuss and I hate that place and all the hanging aroud I will have to do, just to be told its just bruised.

The concert was great though! They sung loads of covers from present day right back to stuff from the 60's like Neil Young and Jonie Mitchell.

I know, I know, I am horribly behind. Anyway, after the depressing episode that was Lancelot du Lac, maybe its time for a little humour in the fandom again, and I hope this recap will bring that.
